TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Both the driver and the person that accounts for the contractual agreement have to be at least 23 years old, and shall provide a valid driving license. Exceptions can only be made with the agreement of Rent a Car Tromsø.
To drive outside of Norway: The tenant is himself financially responsible for any damage,
derailment or accident that occurs outside Norway's borders.
The car is rented out with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank.
Throughout the rental period of the car, the person renting the car is responsible for the car and shall use it as it is his own until the return. This involves also the responsibility for penalties like wrong parking, over speeding, road charges, towing charges, and other costs and penalties. Should some of those penalties/costs occur is the person renting the car required to pay them within the given time limit. Rent a Car Tromsø will charge an extra 250, - NOK in case of delay.
In case of problems with the engine or accidents please contact Rent a car Tromsø at once. The person renting the car is responsible for all damages that occur during the period of rental. Should an accident or damage occur a protocol and report has to be filled out. The compulsory contribution of the person renting the car is max 10.000, - NOK. In case of Full insurance the compulsory contribution of the person renting the car is 0,- NOK, with exception of gross negligence and careless behavior.
Insurance:
Standard insurance covers damage on the car with an Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Excess NOK 10.000,-
Full coverage covers damage on the car with CDW Excess NOK 0,- (extra cost)
The insurance doesn’t cover: tow truck, windows damage, roof damage as a consequence of standing on the roof,
wheel damage as an result of driving places you should not drive, lost key, engine damage caused by neglecting warnings about high temperature, low engine oil level etc.,
refrain from reporting damage even if this is covered by insurance and other damages caused by negligent behaviour.
The insurance covers: Damage on rented car and other cars and persons involved in traffic accidents.
The control of oil level, cooling liquid and so on lies also in the responsibility of the person renting the car. Expenses are refunded to the receipt.
Should the car be returned inadequately, e.g. with large amounts of dirt, garbage, empty bottles and so on an extra charge of 500, - NOK applies.
Should the car be returned with an empty tank, the credit card of the person renting the car will be
charged. Rent a Car Tromsø will charge an extra 250, - NOK for sending an invoice.
Should the person renting the car not pay for his compulsory amount of 10.000, - NOK his credit card will be charged. (If standard insurance is applied: this is stated in the order/contract.)
Should the person renting the car not pay for his compulsory amount of 0, - NOK his credit card will be charged. (If extended insurance is applied: this is stated in the order/contract)
Payment and cancellation: The specified credit card will be charged within 5 working days. In the event of a lack of coverage or another validation problem, the tenant is notified by e-mail and then has 48 hours to correct any errors in the provided card information, coverage or blocking, before the reservation is deleted. The car can then be reserved by others. Cancellation is charged NOK 600,-
